The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night to take a 3-1 series lead in the World Series.

One victory remains for the Brewers to claim their first championship. They erased a 3-0 deficit against the Rays in St. Petersburg. This marks the first time a team has come back from that hole since the Boston Red Sox in 2004.

Milwaukee scored eight runs in the fifth inning to take a decisive lead. The rally came with two outs and included seven straight hits. This sequence set a postseason record. It also marked the first time in World Series history that a team scored eight two-out runs in a single inning.

Jackson Chourio led the offense with four hits and a stolen base. He opened the fifth-inning rally with a single and later drove in two runs. Chourio is the second-youngest player to record four hits and a steal in a World Series game. Only Ty Cobb in 1908 has done so at a younger age.

Robert Gasser delivered the winning pitching performance. The rookie left-hander allowed one hit over six innings. He faced the minimum 18 batters. He is the first left-handed pitcher to accomplish this in a World Series game since Sandy Koufax in 1965. Gasser gave up one run on a line-drive single to Yandy Díaz.

The Rays relied on Griffin Jax to start Game 4 at Tropicana Field. The Brewers had not announced their starter as of the report. Tampa Bay lost despite a sellout crowd of 40,388 fans. Many Brewers supporters traveled to the game and cheered from behind the visitors' dugout.

Manager Pat Murphy praised Chourio for his focus during the game. Murphy noted that Chourio has collected eight hits across three Series games. The Brewers have won eight consecutive postseason games, tying the all-time record. Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash said the team must win the next game to stay alive.

The Brewers finished the game with 16 hits. They defeated pitcher Freddy Peralta and five relief pitchers. Peralta allowed five runs and seven hits in four and two-thirds innings. The Rays led the American League with 98 wins during the regular season. They have never won a World Series in 29 seasons.
