Jay-Z will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Monday night. The announcement came with a short video of Jay-Z seated inside SoFi Stadium, surrounded by goats, captioned "GOAT's out of the bag."

Roc Nation, the entertainment company Jay-Z founded in 2008, has worked with the NFL since 2019 to advise on and help produce the league's entertainment presentations, including the halftime show. When the partnership began, Jay-Z said he told NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, "If this is about me performing at the Super Bowl, then we can just end this conversation now."

The performance will take place at the same stadium where Jay-Z closed his "Jay-Z 30" concerts over the weekend. That run opened with three shows at Yankee Stadium in New York, moved on to London and finished in Southern California. Halftime headliners since 2019 have included Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar.

Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has won 25 Grammy Awards from 89 nominations, the second-most nominations in Grammy history behind his wife, Beyoncé, who has performed at two Super Bowls. His albums include "Reasonable Doubt," "The Blueprint" and "The Black Album." His songs include "Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)," "99 Problems" and "Empire State of Mind," recorded with Alicia Keys.

"Reasonable Doubt," his 1996 debut, entered the Grammy Hall of Fame last year. Jay-Z's work has also expanded into music publishing, artist management and sports. He co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records and launched Roc Nation in 2008 to work with artists and athletes.

He became the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
