Drivers face $50 parking fees and strict shuttle-only lanes for the Oct. 31 football game at Legion Field.

Residents and visitors in downtown Birmingham will pay more for parking and face tighter traffic controls this Saturday to accommodate the Magic City Classic football game. The city has set a $50 fee for general parking at Legion Field, while free parking options in the city center expire at 4 p.m.
The primary cost change for fans is the $50 price tag for Lot F at Legion Field. This fee is first come, first served, and it does not apply to fans holding a specific parking pass for the Officials' Lot. Drivers who arrive later or choose to park on the street near the stadium should note that vehicles in no parking zones will be towed by Weil Wrecker.
Shuttle services to the stadium cost $5 for a round trip. Payment is limited to debit and credit cards, excluding cash and digital wallet options like Cash App. Children aged six and younger ride for free. Ticket sales for the two main shuttle hubs begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Boutwell Auditorium and the Phillips Academy lot. The Birmingham CrossPlex also hosts a shuttle line starting at 9 a.m.
Free parking is available in the deck next to Boutwell Auditorium from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. After 4 p.m., the fee rises to $30 for those entering the deck. This cost structure encourages drivers to arrive before the afternoon rush if they plan to use the city center lot.
Downtown street closures begin at 2 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. The parade starts at 8 a.m. No on street parking is allowed on the parade route after 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. Motorists exiting the Boutwell deck during the parade must turn right onto 19th Street North to reach major highways.
Legion Field gates open at 12:30 p.m., with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. General admission tickets are priced at $27.50, while reserved seating costs $38.50. Fans can buy tickets on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until halftime.
Stadium policies restrict what fans can bring inside. The Coors Light Tailgate Party runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fans must adhere to a clear bag policy, and umbrellas are prohibited. Outside food and drinks must be discarded before entering the gates.
Businesses and individuals parking 10 or more cars near the stadium require a license from the city’s Finance Office. The license costs $200, and officials will verify permits this week. Vendors selling merchandise near the venue must also hold a license. Calls for the license process can be directed to 205-254-2198.
Shuttle lanes are reserved exclusively for the vehicles, and drivers should not enter them. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft do not have dedicated lanes and will follow the same traffic patterns as private cars. Shuttles drop passengers off in the bus lot on the east side of the stadium near Gate 12. All shuttle services cease operations two hours after the game ends.
