Florida voters cast ballots on Monday for the 2026 general election. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. across the state. The day includes decisions on key state races, local contests, and three amendments to the Florida Constitution.

Voters must present a current, valid photo ID with a signature. If the photo ID lacks a signature, voters must provide a second form of identification that includes their signature. A voter information card does not count as accepted identification. Florida Statute 101.043 governs these identification rules. Florida HB 991 takes effect on January 1, 2027.

Voters without the required identification may cast a provisional ballot. This allows the vote to be counted if the voter’s eligibility is verified later. The ballot content varies by address and voting district. Residents should check their sample ballot to see the specific races and questions appearing on their paper.

Three constitutional amendments appear on the November 3 ballot. Each amendment requires at least 60% of the votes cast on the measure to pass. This supermajority threshold is higher than the simple majority required for standard legislative votes. Voters in South Florida can find contact information for county election offices through the Florida Division of Elections.

NBC6 is providing special coverage across all platforms throughout the day. The network will share the latest voting updates and election results as they come in. The source notes that information regarding supervisors of elections was verified on September 28, 2026.
