Paddington: The Musical will remain in London's West End until at least June 25, 2028.
Producers extended the run following high ticket demand. The extension secures the show's presence in the theater district for another two seasons.
Earlier this year, the production won seven Olivier Awards. These victories included best new musical, best director, best actor, best supporting actor, and best supporting actress. The total count equals the record for the most wins by a single musical.
Sonia Friedman Productions, StudioCanal, and Eliza Lumley Productions produced the show for Universal Music U.K. Tom Fletcher of the band McFly wrote the music and lyrics. Jessica Swale wrote the book. The story is based on Michael Bond's novel A Bear Called Paddington and the subsequent film adaptations.
The company plans two additional openings. A Broadway production will debut at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in March 2027. A production in Sydney will open at the Capitol Theatre in September 2027.
The London cast has undergone changes. Sonny Monaghan voices the bear and operates remote puppetry. Abbie Purvis and Hassan Taj perform as Paddington on stage. New cast members include Samantha Bingley as Lady Sloane, Alex Crandon as Hank the Pigeon, Linzi Hateley as Mrs Bird, Cassidy Janson as Millicent Clyde, Sandra Marvin as Tanya, Haydn Oakley as Mr Brown, Marc Pickering as Mr Curry, and Charlotte Wakefield as Mrs Brown.
Tarinn Callender and Teddy Kempner are returning to their roles as Grant and Mr Gruber, respectively. The plot follows a bear from Peru who finds a home with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens. A villain targets the bear, prompting the family to launch a rescue mission.
