The Milwaukee Brewers captured their first World Series championship on Wednesday night, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 to complete a 4-1 series victory. The win ends a 57-year title drought for the franchise and marks the first time the team has won the World Series.

The Brewers dominated the pitching duel at Tropicana Field. Jacob Misiorowski allowed two hits and no runs over 5⅔ innings. The bullpen held the Rays to one run in the remaining frames. Milwaukee scored one run in the second inning, one in the fifth, and two in the sixth to take the lead.

This season, the Brewers finished the regular campaign with a franchise record 103 wins. According to ESPN Research, they join the 1910 Athletics and the 1969 New York Mets as the only three teams in Major League Baseball history to win both a 100-win season and a World Series title in the same year.

The victory sparked immediate reactions across the state of Wisconsin. Other professional and collegiate teams from the state posted congratulations to the Brewers on social media. The Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, Marquette University, and the Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball teams all shared messages celebrating the new champions.

Former Brewers pitcher CC Sabathia led the social media response. He posted a message urging fans to soak in the moment and added a tribute to broadcaster Bob Uecker. Wisconsin native and football star J.J. Watt also shared a post celebrating the team's status as World Series champions.

Player and coach reactions followed quickly. Pitcher Adam Wainwright praised the team's dominance, calling it one of the best teams he has seen. He noted the consistent lineup and strong pitching throughout the series. Joey Votto sent congratulations to the team, and the Colorado Rockies acknowledged Milwaukee's achievement of winning both the World Baseball Classic and the World Series in the same year.

The series ended with a heavy contingent of Brewers fans at Tropicana Field. The team secured the title with a decisive win, bringing the championship to Wisconsin for the first time in franchise history.
