Josh Sweat has recorded two sacks in seven games this season.

The Arizona Cardinals pass rusher is drawing trade interest from multiple NFL teams as the league approaches the Nov. 10 deadline. ESPN reports that Sweat, who is 29 years old, is a primary target for clubs looking to bolster their defensive fronts. Arizona currently holds a 2-5 record and sits in last place in the NFC West, positioning the franchise as a likely seller at the deadline.

The team has already moved veteran pieces to build future assets. It traded wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., a former first-round pick, to the Houston Texans. Sweat could be the next high-profile departure. He signed a four-year contract worth $76.4 million with Arizona during the 2025 free agency period. According to Over The Cap, the deal guarantees no salary after the 2026 campaign, making him a manageable trade asset despite his remaining contract years through 2028.

Sweat spent the first seven years of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. The team drafted him in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Florida State. He earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2021 and helped the Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. In that championship game, he recorded 2.5 sacks. His performance in the 2025 season with Arizona was his statistical peak, as he posted a career-high 12 sacks and 17 quarterback hits.

Teams are actively evaluating his availability because of his past friction with the Cardinals front office. Sweat reportedly requested a trade after head coach Jonathan Gannon was fired following the 2025 season. Gannon had served as the defensive coordinator in Philadelphia when he coached Sweat. The front office denied the request at the time, but the dynamic has shifted with Arizona's poor start to the 2026 campaign.

The Dallas Cowboys are listed as a potential destination by ESPN. Owner Jerry Jones has been aggressive in the defensive market, recently trading with the Pittsburgh Steelers for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. Dallas currently allows 373.7 total yards per game, tying for the third-most in the league. The defense is last in opponent third-down conversion rate at 52% and tied for the fourth-fewest sacks in the NFL.

Green Bay Packers could reunite Sweat with Gannon, who now serves as the team's defensive coordinator in Green Bay. The Packers possess a top-10 sack rate of 7.2% and are expected to welcome Micah Parsons back from injury soon. Adding Sweat would complement the existing depth provided by Lukas Van Ness.

Buffalo Bills present another option for the veteran edge rusher. The team leads the AFC East with a 5-1 record, but its defense ranks 30th in points allowed per game at 28.5. Buffalo is 27th in sack rate and last in points allowed per drive at 2.76. The Bills hope to improve their pressure rate, which currently stands at 20th in the league, as they push for a championship.
