A new burger joint is coming to a retail center on the Katy Freeway that is not yet open.

A permit filed Friday with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation identifies a Hopdoddy Burger Bar planned for 24646 Katy Fwy inside The Centre at Parkwest. The development is currently under construction.

The filing details a 3,480-square-foot interior with an attached 345-square-foot patio. Contractors are expected to start work in December, with completion scheduled for May 2027. The estimated project cost is $800,000.

This location would become the brand's 11th in the Houston area. The chain was founded in 2010 by four friends in Austin to create a new standard for smashburgers and fried chicken. Hopdoddy now operates 50 locations nationwide, with more than 30 in Texas. Founders Table Restaurant Group recently acquired the brand.

The Katy site is part of a wider buildout. A second permit was filed two weeks earlier for a new restaurant in Schertz. Construction for that site is scheduled to begin in November and finish by April 2027.

Hopdoddy’s growth in the region follows its establishment in 2010. The company aims to serve boozy drinks, beer, and wine alongside its food menu. The new Katy location will join its existing roster of 10 Houston-area restaurants once it opens.
