Bensalem officials announced this week that Sprouts Farmers Market will open its first store in Bucks County. The new location is planned for the 4600 Street Road address, occupying the site of the former Trevose Corporate Center. Township officials stated that construction is scheduled to begin sometime in the spring of 2027.

The announcement positions Sprouts, a retailer focused on healthy and organic products, as a major new grocery option for the township. This marks the chain's initial physical presence in the county, expanding its footprint into the Philadelphia suburbs.

While the Sprouts announcement dominated local business news, other developments on the county’s commercial landscape continued in parallel. On Easton Road, demolition crews began dismantling the former 1776 Shopping Center. The 13,000-square-foot structure, located at the intersection of Route 611 and Edison Road, is being cleared to make way for a new express car wash.

Local businessman Jim Lonergan is driving the redevelopment project. The new facility, branded as Captain Clean Car Wash, replaces a site that previously served as a practice drill location for the Doylestown Fire Company. The demolition marks the physical end of the shopping center's tenure on the Easton Road corridor.

In Newtown, Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar is launching a food assistance initiative for November. The restaurant will provide chef-prepared dinners on five nights to families facing financial hardship or food insecurity. This effort is part of the establishment's "Give. Love. Serve." program, which aims to extend its farm-to-table sourcing philosophy beyond its dining room and into the local community.

The dinners will be donated to the New Britain Food Pantry. The initiative, dubbed "Farm to Family," connects the restaurant's suppliers and kitchen directly to residents who need support during the fall season.

Meanwhile, the Fred Beans Parts Distribution Center in Doylestown received recognition from Ford Motor Company. The company cited the distribution center for consistently ranking as the top wholesale provider of Ford Original Equipment Manufacturer parts nationally. Harry Van Houten, the center's director, and Mick Padgeon, the associate director, visited Ford headquarters to receive the award on behalf of the Fred Beans Automotive Group.

Doylestown residents are also preparing for the annual "Cranksgiving" bicycle ride, scheduled for Sunday, November 8. Organized by Bike Works, the event begins at 9 a.m. from Broad Commons Park on 10 Doyle Street. The 9-mile route leads cyclists to Simply Fresh McCaffrey’s Market and the Doylestown Acme, where participants buy non-perishable items for the Bucks County Housing Group's food pantries. Registration is free online, and on-site sign-ups open at 8:45 a.m.

E-bikes are permitted on the ride. The event serves as both a recreational outing and a food drive, concluding with participants collecting groceries for local distribution.
