Savannah Guthrie, the co-host of the TODAY show, renewed her public plea for information regarding the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, on Sunday. The 84-year-old was reported missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, 2026. That date marks nine months since the incident began.
Guthrie posted an image on Instagram featuring a drawing by her young daughter. The artwork depicts a blue umbrella surrounded by raindrops. The caption on the drawing reads, “I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.” Guthrie stated that the piece captures her emotional state. She wrote, “For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward.”
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the FBI. Authorities have indicated that the crime involved a ransom demand. No major breakthroughs have occurred in the case since the initial report. In July, investigators announced that a hair found inside Nancy Guthrie’s home did not yield a suspect after laboratory testing.
A dedicated task force continues to pursue leads to locate Nancy Guthrie and any individuals involved. The sheriff’s office recently noted on X that the team traveled to Florida to consult with lab scientists. The goal was to determine if further analysis could advance the case. Guthrie confirmed that a reward for information remains available to the public.
The host described her mother as “a light in this world.” She expressed a desire for her family to celebrate Nancy Guthrie and provide her with dignity. Guthrie ended her post by addressing the public directly. “We are begging you,” she wrote. “Please help us.”
